Barbara Ebel Launches Campaign for Montgomery County Register of Wills, Pledging Compassionate Leadership for Families
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – Barbara Ebel officially launched her campaign for Montgomery County Register of Wills on Sunday, January 11, in Potomac, Maryland, pledging to transform the office into a compassionate resource for families navigating loss and estate planning.
"I'm running for Register of Wills in Montgomery County to ensure that every family receives the support, guidance, and respect they deserve during their most challenging moments," said Ebel. "At this crucial time in our lives, we need compassionate and dedicated leadership."
With a proven record of serving vulnerable communities—including seniors, people with disabilities, and their caregivers—Ebel outlined an ambitious vision to make estate services more accessible and less intimidating for all Montgomery County residents.
"By breaking down barriers, simplifying processes, and proactively reaching out to our community, we can normalize future planning and ensure no one faces these difficult decisions alone or without the guidance they need," Ebel stated.
Ebel's campaign centers on five key priorities: improving direct constituent services, expanding community education on estate planning, enhancing accessibility through multilingual support and virtual consultations, and strengthening protections for vulnerable populations against exploitation in probate proceedings.
Barbara was joined at her launch by local and state leaders including Maryland House Speaker Joceline Pena-Melnyk, Montgomery County Council President Natali Fani-Gonzales, and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Montgomery County President Carmen Larsen.
"My mission is to create an office that not only manages wills and estates efficiently but also provides heartfelt support and education to members of our community," Ebel concluded. "Together, we can honor the legacies of our loved ones and ensure that no one feels alone in their time of need."
