Public Education: Hosting workshops and providing resources on the rights and responsibilities of the probate and estate planning processes. 

Record Keeping: Maintain official, permanent records of probate and estate proceedings with the highest standards of discretion and accuracy.

How to Vote in Montgomery County

  • NOTE: You must bring proof of residency (e.g., Maryland driver’s license or utility bill) if registering in person on Election Day or during early voting.

    • You are a U.S. citizen.

    • You live in Montgomery County, Maryland. (Your primary residence must be in the county)

    • You must be 18 by Election Day in order to actually cast a ballot.

  • To register, you generally need:

    • U.S. citizenship

    • A Montgomery County address

    • An ID number (MD driver’s license or last 4 of SSN)

    • Proof of residency if registering in person (e.g., Maryland driver’s license or utility bill)

    • Primary Election Day: Tuesday, June 23, 2026 -  7:00 AM — 8:00 PM (Vote in Person)

    • Early Voting: Thursday, June 11 – Thursday, June 18, 2026 -  7:00 AM — 8:00 PM (Vote in Person) You can vote at any early voting center in Montgomery County during these dates.

    • Mail-in Ballot (Vote By Mail): Postmarked by 8:00 PM on June 23, 2026

    • Drop-Off Box: Place your ballot in a ballot-drop box by 8:00 PM on Election Day, June 23, 2026. Locate your nearest ballot box here:

    In-Person on Primary Day: Drop off your ballot at your voting site by 8:00 PM on Election Day, June 23, 2026. Locate your voting site here: https://voterservices.elections.maryland.gov/PollingPlaceSearch

  • Registered voters may request an absentee ballot to vote by mail or drop-off at a box at this link: https://voterservices.elections.maryland.gov/onlinemailinrequest/InstructionsStep1

    Ballot Request Request Deadlines

    • To receive a ballot by mail: Tuesday, June 16, 2026 by 8:00 PM

    • To receive a ballot by email/online: Friday, June 19, 2026, 11:59 PM
